Anderson Lake County Park

Anderson Lake County Park is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, about 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Morgan Hill and 50 miles (80 km) south of San Jose. The 2,722-acre (1,100 ha) park includes the 1,400-acre (567 ha) Anderson Reservoir.

The reservoir was created by damming San Felipe Creek in 1963, and it is now used for flood control and recreation. The park includes picnic areas, a group camping area, trails for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Fishing is allowed in the reservoir, and there are also opportunities for swimming, boating, and windsurfing.

Chesbro Reservoir County Park

Chesbro Reservoir County Park is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The park is open year-round for camping, picnicking, fishing, and hiking. There are two main hiking trails in the park, the North Ridge Trail and the South Ridge Trail. 

The North Ridge Trail is a 3.5 mile out-and-back trail that starts at the north end of the park and leads to the summit of Mt. Chesbro. The South Ridge Trail is a 5.5 mile out-and-back trail that starts at the south end of the park and leads to the summit of Mt. Chesbro. Both trails are rated as difficult due to their steep elevation gain.
