Winchester Mystery House

The Winchester Mystery House, located in Sarah Winchester’s former home of San Jose, California, is a famous piece of architecture belonging to the gun manufacturer’s late wife. The mansion features an assortment of 160 rooms with 10,000 windows, 2,000 doors and 13 bathrooms spread across a confusing and difficult layout.

In 1882, Mary Winchester began work on the house, and it is said that she never stopped until her death in 1922. She was certain that if she kept constructing, the malevolent spirits haunting her would be scared away. As a result, the home contains countless oddities and anomalies, such as secret passageways and doors that lead to nowhere.
